VisualHub: Universal Video Converter
Opening VisualHub
- Go to the top left corner of the screen. Go to File-New Window.
- Search “VisualHub” under Applications in the top right corner of the “Finder” window. Open VisualHub**Alternatively, look for the VisualHub icon on the dock.
Using VisualHub
VisualHub is a program that converts one video format to various other universal video formats. The top of the VisualHub window shows 9 possible formats you can convert your file to.
- Choose the format you want to convert to.
- Locate your original video (on harddrive, DVD, etc) and drag it onto VisualHub.
- Set desired video quality.
- Click Start.
Things to Remember:
- When selecting iTunes format- make sure to select the device you are most interested in for optimal results.
- PSP is for PlayStation Portable
- DV is for MiniDV camcorders, iMovie, Final Cut Pro
- DVD is for DVD players and most computers
- AVI is Windows/Mac/Linux friendly, DivX certified DVD and portable players
- MP4: Quicktime, VLC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
- WMV: Windows Media Player, VLC, Xbox 360 (Can use on Mac with Flip4Mac WMV decoder)
- MPEG: Computers, most DVD players
- Flash: Commonly used by YouTube and Google Video. Macromedia-Adobe Flash web browser for all formats, VLC
* You cannot convert a purchased DVD!! VisualHub can only convert unencrypted or unprotected DVDs.
