Video Production Services at Bryn Mawr College
Where can I get video equipment?
During regular business hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm), you can contact Multimedia Services by phone 610-526-7449 or e-mail multimedia@brynmawr.edu with any questions concerning video equipment requests or orders. To ensure that the AV equipment you need is available, requests for AV equipment should be made at least 48 hours in advance. Multimedia Services is located in the basement of Merion. For a complete list of available resources, please visit http://www.brynmawr.edu/multimedia and click on the “Available Resources” link.
How can I convert video to other formats?
To have clips or video excerpts transferred to other formats (e.g. DVD, web-based, iTunes-compatible), contact Multimedia Services at 7449 or multimedia@brynmawr.edu. Please allow two weeks for processing. To convert video yourself, take advantage of the available video editing stations as described below.
Where can I edit video?
Currently, there are three locations for video editing on campus. The New Media Lab in Guild Hall has five MacPros attached to video equipment and to which a digital video camera may be attached. Canaday Library on the 3rd floor has one station that can be reserved through Tripod. Ask at the Circulation desk for the key. The LLC in Denbigh has one station. All stations have the same software—iMovie and Final Cut Pro—for video editing.
How can I get help?
One-on-one assistance is available by appointment with the ETC assistants. Email nml@brynmawr.edu to schedule a time to meet. Documentation on video editing is available through the ETC Blog. Please allow enough time to complete your project; making an appointment two weeks in advance of your deadline is a good guideline.
Where can I get DVDs?
The Computing Services Help Desk, located in the basement of Guild Hall, sells blank individual DVD-R/RWs for $3 each. The Campus Bookshop also carries a selection of DVDs that range in quantity and price.
